We shouldn't have to carry those things at all.. if the medical business would ever get out of the 1950s.

Depositing a paper check by taking a picture of it is the coolest thing ever.

how safe credit card apps are. Just as safe as using the website, or safer? What is advantage of using my this type of app?
Safer than anything paper, and I've never heard of anyone getting "hacked", or whatever unsafe thing it's thought of now.

Honestly, if these things weren't safe or at least backed up by the institution providing them, they wouldn't be doing it. After 30 or so years I think they've got the security down pretty well.

As with all apps you need to see what permissions it requires and what information it wants you to share.... Dave

That's SOOOO important. Make sure the app isn't just a data mining operation (with your data being the payoff) in exchange for its use. I am absolutely Amazed at the permissions that most app users agree to.

That said, I bet your bank app is fine (since banks already know everything about you [emoticon]! ). But read the permissions anyway.

Another step to not carrying any wallet. I look forward to it.
How would you carry your Medicare ID card? Driver's license? Cash for tips? Library card? I hate the idea of having to carry a phone everywhere. Too bulky, too fragile, I can drop my wallet with no issues.

I use an online banking app since my checking account bank no longer has a branch near us, so I can make deposits using my phone. Don't know of any other real benefits to a banking app.

I have pictures of my critical cards on my phone. If I was worried about losing my phone, I'd keep the pics in an online secure storage area and just access them as needed.
I hear you re phone size. I miss my old flip phone, but I do like the new phone's camera and ability to hit the internet. Honestly tho, my phone is smaller than my wallet when you look at weight, thickness and volume. (my wallet is one that is lined to prevent remote reading of my CCs).

The app can be hacked same as the bank's web site and anything else but the banks do make it hard to do. One advantage of the app is it can be set to notify you (Alarm beep) if you get a message from your card issuer. IE: You are running out of credit.> Payment due.. Bill is ready... Payment accepted/processed/cleared.

That kind of thing (Some will notify you EVERY time the card is used..

I've heard, but "it ain't necessarily so". And so far the digital license isn't accepted in many states.

I carry all the stuff I need in a wallet not much thicker than my phone. It's been like that for 40 years, I hate a thick wallet, and have never found the need to haul all that stuff around.

First you ask how to carry all that stuff; then you say you never do. [emoticon]

Nope, I never asked "how to carry all that stuff". You may need to check your reading comprehension. Perhaps this will help you out: "I hate a thick wallet, and have never found the need to haul all that stuff around."

Maybe more reading and less scanning.

I use the app provided by my bank as well as the Wallet app that is built in to iOS. Both are very secure, requiring my fingerprint, but I can use both over my VPN for additional security if I needed to.

The banking app allows me to even deposit checks without visiting a branch. Other than cash deposits or withdrawals, I haven’t been in a bank in years. The Wallet app holds credit cards and allows me to charge stuff via Apple Pay and near field chips, which is even more secure than using a chip card reader.

My stack of cards is an inch thick. I prefer not having to carry that at all.
