Puzzled by what an "easy start A/C" because I have not seen an a/c, that don't start by pushing a button -- unless broken or without/insufficient power.

And most modern a/C now have remote controls. So it's easy as you get where you can turn it on or off from your bed.

You need to determine to requirement to cool off your RV to be able to know the rating of your a/c if it matches that of your genny.

I don’t have it, but believe the MicroAir Easystart kit on Amazon to be the “best” but not cheap ($300). Not sure that that will guarantee you can run your AC on a 2K genny though, especially if at any altitude.

Will it allow a 2,200 watt genny to power a 15.3 AC? I thought only the polar cubs could run on the 2,200 watt generator.

It will run it with a high start capacitor but with the 2200 it is at the top end of its capability and would not recommend that. That generator will not last long because it is over working. I have a Coleman Mach 8 15,000 btu with a high start capacitor. Runs hard with the 2200, perfect with a second in tandem.

Sorry, I'm a layman especially when it comes to electricity.
QUESTION: Would it not be just as easy to start up as follows
1- turn your AC Temp knob all the way to a point where the ambient temperature would not trigger the AC to run. i.e. if the ambient temperature was 70 then turn the AC to 80 degrees then
2- start your AC fan only... wait a few minutes with the fan only running
3- then turn your temperature knob down until the AC kicks in.
This way you have a two stage draw on the generator, would that work????

The issue maybe your generator. Reasons they got two Honda's, lol.

I had a genny with start up at 4,000 and drops to 3,500 on steady run where my a/c draws 2,000.

And yet it still trips and more frequently when it's running on oxygen-thin high elevation.

As stated, it will start and run. The two stage way is better than the whole draw. But the 2200 is going to run at the highest point on its spectrum and will over tax the generator. I would suspect you could run it to damage in an hour or two, if that. Get a 3 or 4 k generator to do this. A second 2200i will set you back $1,000-1,200. And you get 4400 with options. A broken 2200i will just cost you the same and leave you without.
