Anyone familiar with RV Armor, Flex Armor Gaco or other liquid roof coating? I suffered some damage to my roof and am being told I need a whole new roof. It's only 4 years old but I understand a dealer service shop needs to cover their butts if they are going to guarantee a new repair installation. Is the liquid roof stuff a good option? It's almost half the cost of a new TPO or EDPM membrane. Any insight here?

I’m happy with Heng’s coating but have an intact rubber roof underneath.

Out here in AZ we use a rubberized roof coating on our homes. Some people have been using this coating on their RVs with success. I've only used it on my home and am very pleased with the results. It paints on with a roller and drys quickly.

What type of damage? Most of the liquid coatings won't fix a big tear.

Ditto ^^^ how extensive and how bad is the damage? The membrane itself shouldn't be too bad after only 4 years. You can do a lot with recaulking, eterna bond tape and then a coating to make it all last a long time. Craig

I have used liquid roof and i have used Henry's
And also one called SupRV-1

Liquid Roof is a (2) part system it has a catalyst you mix in, and a limited refrigerated shelf life after being mixed

SupRv has a long cure time... day's

If it was mine, and if the current roof can be fasten down to not be loose
I might overlap the damage with a new section of the same material ( glued down )
Seal the lapping edges with Eternabond tape, then seal the whole thing with roof sealer of my choice possible Henry's or Hengs white coating
I did a whole new EPDM roof for a friend about 12 years ago, it is a whole lot of work, very labor intensive, that's why it costs so much
A bad tear, or missing material, needs more than just sealer over the plywood or other roofing structure

Tree reached out and tore my roof. Insurance paid for replacement rubber roof. Went to RV FlexArmor and had a better little maint. spray roof put on. Cost less too.

Having tried several over the years, I second the vote for Hengs. If you can repair the damage and provide a stable roof, Hengs will provide good secure coverage.
