The Great Recession of 2008/9 took a number of manufacturers into bankruptcy. Just wondering which ones this recession is likely to bring down?

hopefully, none, if this is short lived. unlike 2008 there is nothing wrong with the underlying economic structure. we should bounce back relatively fast.

^^^ This. Although things aren't good right now we're certainly not to the point of a recession yet.

If we can get a handle on the corona stuff soon I think the bounce back will be quick. By the same token if we don't things might get ugly.

I have faith in us as a country winning this battle.

This isn't a recession! A recession is due to economy. This is due to nature!

Now if they extend this stay at shelter at home order longer than the end of the month (like Virginia is doing until June10th). Then yes there will be major consequence. And things will get ugly.

Not sure what RV manufacturers it will bring down if any. There's only a handful left after the major ones have gobbled up or merged with the smaller ones. There will be significant impact to the RV business though for sure. Rv's are typically considered a luxury item for those with disposable cash, so I expect sales to drop the remainder of 2020 and into 2021 and the used market will get saturated as people try to get out from under their RV's. There's already talk in my old hometown of a lot of restaurants and small businesses that are already feeling too much of a crunch and will never open their doors again. I expect this will be the case across the country. And all those businesses have employees. And all those employees are consumers. I sit back in amazement that in the span of 2 months, a virus of all things could be such a wrecking ball through the global economy. This will get worse before it gets better. Loan forgiveness and stimulus checks are very short term band aids.

Even though this is not a recession, the weaker companies that operate on thin margins and do not have substantial financial reserves may not be able to survive more than a few weeks of weak sales. It may not be as bad as 2008, but probably a few will turn belly up.

Many small business’s are operating week to week .. many more than you think. Even with the loans and forgiveness they don’t have a chance. My guess is 20% are gone today and if this last much past may 1st many more will fall. Things won’t “just snap back” you can’t stop a super tanker and just snap your fingers and go.
How much borrowing did Winnebago do to buy newmar? I’d say if they did much they are in trouble.that's my bet for the big guys All of the small towable guys are underwater all the time ( gone) . Class a sales were falling anyway and the market was very soft. It’s not snapping “back”
We may have been doing great, and this isn’t caused by economic problems but it created one of the biggest economic messes since the depression. I think Rving will be the last thing most people think about for the next few years. The only “good thing” , if you can call it that , is the whole world is in the same mess.
