As a long-time member and daily follower of the forum, I am wondering whatever happened to the very active and many paged forum of yore?? Used to be four or five pages, now we are lucky if we get a page at best. What gives? Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place and hope it will be moved to a more appropriate category.

Maybe there are more important things now?

Maybe it's just to depressing to think about our rv, when we don't know when we can use it again

Just an idea

Been discussed a number of times over the last couple years. Forum started a slow decline several years ago from the multiple pages you remember to sometimes less than a full page now. Lots of theories on why. Most attribute it to the bickering, personal attacks, and snarky replies that so often happen.

Well, let's vote on it:

A) Too depressed

I will add to that list.

Drift.

Open a topic. Ask about batteries. Before you know it, the discussion is about bungee cords. Makes the value of asking a question less.

There is something special about camping in an RV.

Agreed - last week, I had my brother sign up. He just bought a new truck and wanted to ask tire questions. I spent a lot of time prepping him for snarky replies.

You just have to post something interesting. I started a thread last week titled "And Texas Caves In" and it is up to page 19 now. Woo hoo! I'm waiting for my royalty check for starting a popular thread. LOL

The attitudes of a few around here don't help, but there's more to the drop-off than grumpy old farts and creaky forum software.

A lot has to do with social media. Facebook has hundreds of group pages dedicated to camping, campground reviews, RV repair, vintage RVs, and the like. People used to search the web for RV forums to read when they had a problem, now they search Facebook or YouTube.

Instead of clicking on "Newest" click on "Active". You will get many pages to scroll through.
