Installed Fantastic fan I bought years ago and now I notice that even it is upper class model with electric lid and rain sensor - it does not have thermostat.
So when I try to open it on colder day, I have to switch to manual crank.
Than when I leave it open with crank to auto, at some point at end of the day it will close.
So does it have set thermostat that I can't adjust?
What would be the setting?

What model of Fantastic Fan (FF) do you have?
On my FF, the remote control lets me set a speed (13 possible speeds) or a temperature, and it automatically opens/closes the lid and has a rain sensor. Without the remote, the fan unit has a manual open/close knob but no other controls, and manually opening the lid will turn the fan full on. I'm sure the rain sensor would close the lid upon rain. I have no idea if the last temperature set BY THE REMOTE would still be utilized when manually opening the lid.

You have newer model, when I can't find model # on mine.
It was produced in years when wireless remotes were not available, although I have 2 additional wires marked "remote" on it, what I believe would be remote switch.
I search the manuals on the net and even those marked as "older" cover newer technology.
Hate to have electric lid and operate it manually simply from lack of manual.

Sounds odd, lid closing. Unaware of any F/F that had a fixed non adjustable thermo. Those that did have thermo were adjustable, visible on face, and to my knowledge it turned on/off motor, (thouhg may also open lid-not sure of operation)
Couple of listings showing older unit manuals...

Wonder if lack of remote part of issue. (Don't recall any f/f with a remotely mounted manual switch, only remote controllers. pdxrv shows various controllers offered.

Thanks for the links. I went via both lists and looks like I have unicorn.
Again, this is older unit where remotes did not exist, but all listings show manual crank with motor switches, or electric crank with thermostat.
Nowhere the model with electric lid and rain sensor, but no thermostat shows.
Oh well, I will have to figure it out the hard way, or just use manual cranks.
However playing with it today, when I pull the knob to manual opening and then turn the switch to on, the lid motor will keep on running. Seems it has electronic circuit that turns the power off at certain current aka when motor comes to end of travel.

Fantastic doesn't exist anymore. The business is taken by Dometic and their manuals are posted.
What I experienced with them - the Customer Service is no longer fantastic.
I will try to take some pictures and mail them, so thanks for the suggestion.
Who would thing such simple issue could get so complicated.

Found this, 2000TRS

Unfortunately not clearest picture.
Appears, if your board looks like this, thermostat external-possibly an option. looks like simple mechanical thermostat.
Not sure on operation or wiring, my guess if thermostat not used its leads from board (I would assume, again a guess) jumpered or connected together in lieu of using tstat. Don't see how tstat unconnected that would trigger lid to close, especially at some later time.
Lid closing suggests to me rain sensor? Maybe unplug see if lid stays open?

I replaced mine last fall with a "like" or similar model which was all manual operations in the bath area. After I dropped it in place, caulked it, wired the 2 connections, and cut the inside trim, I hit the variable speed switch and all I get is full speed. Not sure if I have a bad pot or something miss-wired.
Like you, it's in place and I'm wondering...
