I'm not a fan of CNN by any means, but they have put together an interesting page that lists each state's position on reopening. Presumably they will update this page to keep it current.

Seven of the states include their policy on camping.

I can't speak about other States but here in New York State, it's more complicated than what is written. For purposes of when to re-open, the State has been broken down by regions so some regions can open while others can't yet. This makes sense so the entire State doesn't have to remain closed. The region I live in for instance can't open yet but if you refine things further, we have a very low infection rate in our County. Currently there are 6 active cases, but the Buffalo area is still seeing a big problem and since we are in the same region, we are closed. State Parks are closed to camping State wide even for those areas that are opening but open to go spend the day there. You just can't bring your self contained RV and sleep there. Private campgrounds are open as they are deemed essential and provide housing for extended periods of time for some. Because they're private, they set their own rules about what campers can do and what they can't. I spoke to one camper who is a seasonal camper. He and his wife can be at their campsite, they can sit outside but they can't go to their neighbors campsite to visit and they can't have visitors. Not even if they wear masks. Camping to the weekend campers remains closed. I should mention that these rules are for that specific private campground. Others may have different rules.

Well they missed several state's camping policies. Alabama never closed their parks, Tennessee is opening for camping I think May 15th, late May anyway. Georgia parks were never closed. FL opened about half of their parks to visitation, few if any have CG and there is a rumor will allow camping starting May 15th but I have not been able to verify that. At least some Mississippi SP are taking CG reservations. Nebraska, I heard, i opening for camping mid to late May. Tho NE has been getting a terrible reputation with campers, prices I think.

Idaho seems to be taking reservations. Wyoming is open to resident camping 5/15. And last Montana opened for camping 5/1. I'm not going to check others right now.

So all in all CNN performed as expected.

Give it two to three weeks....this thing will blow up again. The feds have to provided enough testing. The feds have not provided ANY guidelines. 50% of affected areas have not seen an increase in cases....but they have not seen a decrease either. If people are allowed to travel from their county to yours.....well...look out. The county I live in has 0 deaths, and only 56 total cases. 8 are ongoing.

Read, what I thougth was an interesting article. Can't remember where. But said pandemics end one of two ways. First medically( herd immunity) or two socially.
People accept the risk and go back to work etc, and accept the death rate and the risk.

I have no comment on which we should do ,as I really don't know, but I suspect we are moveing toward option # two

Or the virus mutates, or burns itself out, which ever way, but medically ceases to be a threat, is what I was trying to convey.

Again I have no opinion as to what should be done,

Interesting list but missing data for campers. WI State Parks are open, but campgrounds are closed. Private CGs are allowed to be open but some counties have closed them at least until the Stay at Home order ends May 26th.

They are starting to reopen things around here even though Dallas and Tarrant (Ft Worth) counties are hitting new highs of new cases almost every day. Makes no sense to me.
