Hi all,

This is my first time posting as I'm looking for some advice when it comes to dealing with dealers/manufacturers after buying a trailer that was constructed very poorly.

I purchased a brand new Aliner Ascape ST this year and have had issues ever since bringing it home.

First issue we noticed was the fiberglass has spider cracks in one spot. The dealer told us to take it and get a quote but it's been very difficult to find someone that can do fiberglass repair near us. I'm also concerned with the paint quality on the rest of it if it's already cracking.

Next issue is we went to use the 12 v socket and it didn't work, after hours of investigation I determined the factory miswired the trailer. None of the circuits are labeled and many things are on the same circuits. I discovered the 12v outlet is hooked in with the water heater so it only turns on when the water heater is turned on.

First time we used the shower water started pouring out the walls outside the trailer. It appears the shower drain and seals are all leaking.

The small license plate light popped off on our drive home from picking it up. The screws holding it on are stripped it seams and need to be changed.

The back of the license plate bracket rubs on the paint and has already wore off some of the paint.

The first time the water was turned on there were leaks everywhere. I had to disassemble much of the interior to access and fix leaks.

When the water tank was filled it began leaking everywhere from the filler neck. I've tried tightening everything and adding silicone but no luck getting it to seal.

During a rain storm water came in one of the windows but I'm not sure where the leak is.

The overall fit and finish is very poor. Screws missing or sticking out inside cabinets. Wall covering wrinkled and coming down. Holes drilled through the floor are not sealed at all and road spray comes up through them.

Every day I spend in this trailer I get more frustrated as I find more and more issues.

I purchased the trailer out of state so returning to the selling dealer is difficult, learned my lesson there. I have a dealer near me but they wouldn't be able to look at the trailer till July and then they'd have it for months to fix everything.

At this point I've lost all trust in the trailer and really just want to return it and get my money back.

Does anyone have success doing something like that?

I'd really suggest everyone stay away from Aliner for sure. Whoever put this together did such a bad job and obviously their QC is non-existent.

Are this many issues common?

Unfortunately you signed on the dotted line and bought the trailer.

Best thing you can do is contact Aliner DIRECTLY and get a Company Representative involved.
They may have you return trailer to factory for REPAIRS but slim chance on 'returning' it.

Going thru Dealer will not get your issues resolved....Factory Rep DIRECTLY
Document issues with e-mails, photos, repair invoices etc.

Is it time for your medication or mine?

Too late for you but a complete inspection and system use before you signed anything and took delivery would have been the best procedure.

You won't be able to return it. Your local dealer may help but on a very low priority since you bought it elsewhere and view you as a disatisfied non future customer. When you take it in for repairs take pictures in and out just in case something happens.

Good suggestion to try the mfg.

Thanks....this is all kind of what I have assumed. I have been in contact with the manufacturer as well but they haven't been helpful and claim I have to work with a local dealer to get it fixed, they do not perform repairs at the factory. I understand needing something repaired under warranty that was an honest mistake but the number of things wrong with the trailer is mind boggling to me.

For the future search PDI as there are many posts on this and learn what to do before you own a RV.

How far are you from the manufacture? Haul it there and park in their entrance. They might actually play nice with you then.

Best recommendation so far.

And I don't think patch up repairs will be the end of your headaches -- err, nightmare.

Just return it, get whatever settlement you. can get, go to small claims court and move on.

If the warranty states the purchaser is to have repairs made at a dealership and he hasn’t taken it for repairs, what is a small claims court going to do? Purchaser agreed, hasn’t complied, case dismissed.
