Got my New Tires for the Tahoe

I went with the General Grabber ATS 265/70R17 in Load Range E.

I immediately took a road trip to see my folks so I have about 600 miles on them.

Ride great and look great I think. All the squishy jiggly ride is gone even without the trailer.

Running the PSI at 44. Iโ€™ll bump that up to 60 when I test on the tires towing the TT.

Thanks!

You both probably know at 45-50 osi, that tire size is good to 4509-5000 lbs per pair. Is OP ever going to be that heavy on a 1500? I was barely that heavy with my SW CC K3500 with 6 people, trailer, two 150 lb malamute in bed, rack generator etc, did I mention kitchen sink?!?!?
As said, the sidewalk tire placards mean well, not always correct.

Enjoy them none the less.

Marty! You know darn well that MAX inflation number is there for a reason!!!

Rofl! Check the tire pressure thread. Recommendations from max psi on tire to the door placard is wrong!

Congrat's and they look GREAT !

Consider what I do ever since my IR gun arrived...

Take temp's from several spots (bead, sidewall, tread edge, tread middle) on the tire.

All four when new and during the break in

Log it on my vehicle log sheet

Then when hauling/towing for the first time and log that

Then over time...every so often, check them. More so on any long trip and/or when heavy

Telltale when something is going south and a good one figuring out what PSI is best for each corner & loading

Yep. Nice tires.

I think road noise is almost a thing of the past. The manufacturers are getting pretty clever. I'm running 305/55r20 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. NO road noise. They look much louder than they sound.

Thank you! These are not bad at all. Not as quiet as the Goodyear Wranglers they replaced but not bad at all.

Small trade off for stability!

Thanks!
