Advice - tires again

I am going to buy a new set for my RAM 3500 SWB 4x4.

The Michelin Defenders will be on sale at Costo soon and I am tempted but I checked Walmart and they have the Sailun terramax in the same size (275/70/18) for a lot less. I know Sailun is getting a good rep for trailer tires but how about for truck tires?

Just bought a $260 Marine Starter for my Boat, could have gotten a Communist Chinese Made for $100. Out on the water in 5' seas, what starter would you want to depend on???

Please , paying more for US made guarantees nothing, thats just plain assumption on your part. Sailun has proven that fallacy .

How about your GPS? Radio? Navigation system? Cell phone? Satellite phone? I would wager that 90% of the things you depend on are make in China. What do you do now? Stay ashore?

How many times do I need to say “WHEN I CAN I BUY USA” got it???

We all got it, why don't you answer the question , just one example what cell phone or computer do you own ????? Just answer the question , Its tiresome you playing this game. Its always about these tires. I simply want the best RV tire ,and that is Sailun , period, been proven time ,and again.

These Michelin Agilis CrossClimate commercial LT tires are the 7th set of tires i'v had on my current pickup.

Michelin designed them for HD delivery vans. They claim they have 31% more nylon in them than their best selling Defender LT tires.

They do weigh around 5-6 lbs more than a Defender of the same size.

They are also a 3 peak mountain snowflake certification.

Mine have a bout 15,000 miles on them and I am more than pleased with them.

They look like they will out wear the other 6 brands of tires I've had to date.

So Chinese made is okay, as long as you don't have an alternative? Hmm, so the quality is fine if there's no choice? I think you shouldn't harp on the quality if you think they're okay when you can't find anything different.

$1,000 difference??? WOW, so the Sailuns were around $500 for 6?
When I was looking at tires, the Goodyear G614 was around $300 per tire, that comes to $1800 for six, the Sailun were about $800 for 6. You do the math.

And looking now, Goodyear G614 is around $320, and the Sailun is around $165. Again, you do the math.

I thought we were talking truck tires
I never saw truck tires specifically mentioned. I merely listed the price difference when I was buying tires. If you assumed truck tires...well you know what they say about assume. 🙂

Well if everyone is back to talking about tires, I just put on a set of Cooper Discover HT3s and LOVE them so far. Already have 300 miles on them, all towing. 😉

Seriously though, I have had good luck with Coopers whenever I have run them, including on my last 5er, but time will tell.

My Vietnam made Sailuns have been great so far. Played the Michelin game before and won't waste my money on them no matter where they are made. My tire guy recommended the Sailuns and said he is seeing great results from them. I told him a lot of people say Michelins are a better value and he just laughed and said they were for him because he makes double the profit on them. Time will tell but so far I really like them.
