Just my $.02 here, but while you at it, go with the 3500. More truck than you need? Perhaps, but in the event you ever decide down the road to get a bigger RV of some sort, you'll have the payload for it (to a point).

Definitely!!

For what it’s worth every year I’m seeing more and more Rams in the campgrounds.

If I was looking 2-3yrs out, I would be leaning towards the 7.3.

If buying in the next few months, I would be a bit nervous of a brand new engine.

What? Ford screw up a new engine release - never happen.

Oh wait remember the 6.0 and the 6.4?

I love my Chevy PU.
My "work" truck is a 2009 F-450 with a 6.4L diesel and its the biggest piece of **** on the road.
Another work truck is a 2017 F-250 and I don't like it either.

The Chevy 6.6L with a 6-speed is the lowest on power of the big three.
Never been a fan of of Dodge so I wouldn't consider one of them either.

If I was going to buy a new truck dedicated to my camper I would buy a new F-350 DRW regular cab with a 7.3L and 10 speed trans.

Sort of...but it's a gas 7.3. Probably a bit of marketing off the love of the old diesel 7.3.

The following combination of bore, stroke, combustion chamber design and compression ration enabled Ford to produce the best horse power while keeping the A/F ration as close to stoichiometric as possible.

7.3L just worked out to work the best.

One truck is "Made in USA" and the other truck is "Made in Mexico".

Choose wisely...

I just bought the trailer, 30ft,7740 GVWR.

Any of the new 2500's will handily pull this trailer.....F-350,3500's series trucks is way overkill and 1500's simply lack payload.

It will be 3/4 ton and likely my last truck as I'm 60.

Thanks for the replies.
