Old Dodge Owners ...Battery cable warning

Hey all, little public service announcement.

The old 07 Ram had a little electrical issue this weekend.
Exhaust brake (aftermarket) quit working right on a short drive and appeared to be a little slow to engage prior to that.
Popped the hood to look for, I don't know what, and passenger side battery was boiling over! Also alternator gauge, noticed it was only hitting like 10V, but was charging.
Disconnected the battery, cleaned up the mess and made it 200 mi home no problem.

After a little reading, it appears to be a very common occurrence on the older Dodges, maybe others too, bad battery cables, internal dead short.
The Dodges send charging power ot the passenger battery and ECM senses voltage off the drivers battery, so batteries couldn't equalize and the alternator was cooking the passenger battery while the drivers side was calling for more power.
Pretty certain I would have esploded a battery if it happened on the highway.
Gonna make all new cables and suggest the same to others BEFORE it happens.
Our truck is clean and has lived an easy life. Cables degraded due to time, not care and upkeep.
