EU2000i starts, then imediately quits..

Gas cap is unscrewed.
Fuel pump puts fuel into the bowl.
?Starting fluid seems to have no effect.
New and clean carb.

Unit had not been started in a couple years.
I found a bit of old gas in the tank beforehand.
I poured a small amout of new gas in, swished around and emptied. Did this 2-3 times.
Then before first start attempt, I unscrewed fuel bowl screw and pulled cord til some of the fuel spilled out in attempt to get to fresh gas.

Then start attempts began.

I pulled carb again, but jets were still clear.

That's interesting. I have a 1950's Channel Master transistor radio, an Eico portable transistor radio that I built from a kit and a four-tube radio that my dad built and sold in 1923 when he was 16 years old.

GH you sound like one of the good guys... Even though I do not have an EU-2000i. I thank you for the photo journal for not enough to that.

I have some radios and other related stuff where many have produced videos (Genrally a pain to watch and work through)

I took detailed step by step button by button notes
Saved to ye old hard drive and send ''em out frequently

I mean I Just did a MAJOR rewrite of one memory bank.. Took me about 15 minutes.. IT's very easy to do. But the owner's manual is hopeless.

Yes, I knew someone mentioned to check the exhaust.
Took the rear end for granted again. Lol

Yes thats why it would only run for like a second, and then you had to wait like 15 min to try again.
Time for exhaust to clear out i guess

How did you hear it run for a split second if the exhaust was plugged?
Funny how the clues add up right at the end. Glad to hear it is running.

You must have missed my message early on. Good news to hear it is running. I had a similar experience with a weed eater, in that case it it was a mud dauber that plgged the exhaust.

Well, I want to say thanks to you all for accompanying me and giving me direction during this.
It would have been much harder without you all.

This was actually the end of a complete rebuild of the eu2000i.
There is alot of info out there on repairs to this unit, but I couldnt find anything on an overhaul.
I took pictures and numbered them if anybody is interested. groundhogyh at yahoo

Yes, this unit sat for a couple of years.
It was in two shops. The one guy gave it back to me and couldnt fix it. Lol

Funny story, one winter I started my old gas tractor to plow the driveway.. After a few minutes running there were tiny seeds being spit out of the muffler.. A mouse must have thought that would be a great place to hide the food supply..
