That is why you see the advertisements on television and letters in the mail. Ambulance chasers looking to get rich with little to sometimes meaningless amounts to the class. In the case of the diesel stuff, they are law firms trying to capitalize on Volkswagen's and the Ram ecodiesel issues. They are just going down the line for every manufacturer that makes diesel powered cars and trucks.

The โ€œproposed class actionโ€ suit meaning they will attempt to get others involved. That is where the big money for the lawyers is.

I was indirectly involved in the development of the 6.7L PowerStroke Diesel engine.

First, the base engine is "all Ford". Navistar tried to sue and so did another manufacturer but both dropped their lawsuits when Ford showed how the base engine development was done by "black box" engineers (engineers who no involvement withe the other programs).

Second, the claimant position was that Bosch (admittedly guilty of diesel emission cheating) did provide "some" of the software for the engine controller but not a "significant" amount. Yes, there are Bosch component (fuel injectors) in the system. The current system uses an ECU maybe a 3rd party. There was no "fruit from the poisoned tree". Ford accepted all responsibility for the total product.

If there was anything to this, the EPA and CAFE would be all over it like ants on honey !

More class action lawyers looking for an out of court settlement and big payday for themselves, and a token pay out to their clients.

Yes, that looks like it. However, I didn't see a reference to Sterns law.

No, I havenโ€™t.

http://www.lemonlawcase.com/lemon-law-firm/about-stern-law/ โ€œCurrently, Stern Law is taking cases involving transmission issues with Ford Fiestas, Focuses, and Fusions.โ€

They take cases to make money, not to improve transmissions or the 6.7.
