https://mx.usembassy.gov/mexico080620-travel-advisory-level-4-do-not-travel/

I hope the link works. The USA has issued the strongest travel warning I have ever seen . Almost like a biblical warning of 7 plagues. Very extreme and bound to harm Mexico tourism for a long time.I was shocked.

All of our countries across the planet are suffering. Including the tourism in Florida and Hawaii and across our Nation. We are all "harmed" by this. Nothing shocking about warning people about the dangers of travel, no matter what country they are going to.

I think they issued the exact same advisory word for word for travel to Florida. Chuck

Moisheh, I checked the corresponding Canadian Advisories, and Canada's Advisories don't seem to be as "dire." However, they are originally dated back in July, and this one from US is dated this month, August.

"The U.S. Department of State updated the Travel Advisory for Mexico on August 6, 2020. Do not travel to Mexico due to COVID-19. Exercise increased caution in Mexico due to crime and kidnapping."

That would include rving into Mexico. Looks like this Forum is not long for the RV.net. We should all follow the instructions of our government.....right? Are you Canadians under the same travel restrictions to Mexico with regard to rving? Gotta keep using the words rving cause from what I've been reading lately, this thread is not likely to last.

Gotta remember to change my profile. Left Mexico in March. It was fun while it lasted.

Canadian RV'rs do not need any advisories. We cannot cross into the USA so Mexico is a NoGo. Canadian advisories cause us a big problem. Our travel health insurance will either be null and void or it will not cover anything related to the advisory. Covid is only covered by a few insurers. Much of that US advisory is factual but extreme.

We're not giving up on Mexico yet. Maybe a year or two but we will return. Still have a few places on my bucket list in Mexico.
