Yes we can live in the manner we want, but that also includes the spouse regardless of gender. No one is in charge during a relationship. It's a partnership that can be bought out of if it goes so bad it can't be fixed.

Author, you have a too old-fashioned vision of gender roles. In the 21st century, things have changed a bit, and things are different. Through the articles ***Link Removed*** you can see that gender roles have changed and adapted in modern society. What you are talking about is just sexist stereotypes that have no place in our time.

I completely agree with you. We still have a lot of people sticking to the long-obsolete gender-roles We are already living in the 21st century and everyone can live as they want

I married a liberated woman and just the other evening she said " honey, take me someplace I've never been before "......I grabbed her hand and took her to the kitchen.

Jokes aside, after retiring I took on all laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, vacuuming, watering all her plants. Lol
Just trying to stay busy.

When I was married, I performed a lot of the work normally ascribed to a wife, because I thought I was better at it. I did a lot of the cooking and dishwashing, while letting the wife concentrate on other tasks, like taking care of our 2 girls. I didn't mind at all, but in hindsight I think taking over those tasks usually delegated to a wife may have inadvertently hurt her feelings.

Well since my last post, I've taken up bass fishing as a way to pass time and enjoy the great outdoors but had to teach the wife how to operate power equipment because of the void I created.....seems to be working.
