Been there, done that. To my son's car a few years back. He called said the car would only move in reverse. I assumed the transmission was bad as it was an old beater. I borrowed a trailer. Took a three hours round trip to pick it up and bring it home.
I worked hard jacking up the car to get it off the trailer. Was quite surprised once I finally got it on the jacks and found out my error.

That is always a good feeling.

There is something special about camping in an RV.

Unless you actually put new caliper bolts in the last time ..... How could you have an extra to save?

This is sorta an ongoing saga with me. I’ve got so many different projects going or need to be started....I’m often working on one, while thinking of another! I can’t multi-task.....mentally or physically! memtb

I haven't done that, but I did replace the engine in a truck once and had all the bell housing and motor mounts in. I happened to walk to the passenger side and there was the flex plate sitting on the floor.

Done the exact same thing, but I wasn't as lucky. I did put both caliper bolts in, but the tires vibrated one loose. It happened when I was about 15 miles from home, I thought maybe I could limp it back, the caliper rubbed a hole in the rim, tire went flat and I barely got it off the road. Being stubborn, I did make it home. It only cost me one new 37" tire and 4 rims since they quit making the ones that I had anymore. You can bet I put locktite on all components now.

^ I can relate! Lol
But I don’t like loctite on anything that doesn’t require it, unless it’s a bandaid for an issue that isn’t normal.
Maybe that’s because of my upbringing in the rust belt where most bolts would self loctite after 1 winter anyway and by year 5 they seemed to be welded in!

Brake caliper bolts are the first thing I put anti seize on....them and the
lug nutz.
