I was going to load back on the truck so I can work on it in the shop.
I have some generator work, a new pressure regulator to install and my propane gas light.
But its a tad bit too windy to load it on my truck.

Good job! Reminds me to work on my uncle's camper AC leaks after we finished installing the suspension from 4Wheelonline onto the current Wrangler project.

The calm before the storm arrived this morning so I got my camper loaded back on my truck.
Does my truck make my camper look big?

Changed oil in my truck and trying some Valvoline VR-1 in the old warhorse with a flat tappet cam...Oil these days don't have enough zinc in them compared to when my truck was born..

Batteries still at 13.2 volts, last posted on here December 24th, they were 13.2 volts then as well. Nothing much has happened since last time I checked them. My life is still boring.

Zinc is critical during break-in for a flat tappet cam.
With the miles you have on yours I don't think its an issue.

I've read it both ways, some say there is still enough zink in modern oil and others say no..I read for a long time on Bobs the oil guy and many claim lack of zinc was the cause of failure...I only have 91k on the old 460 and thought I would use it buying on special because us spendy...My old 390 heads went south because of non leaded fuel in the '76. Engine so it was either ad an additive which some say doesn't mix all the way or a factory blend in..
It's a racing oil in a 460,seems only natural huh.

Lead in the gasoline did two things, it built up a cushion on the valve face and the seats in the head. If you never ran lead and there was no cushion the valve hitting the seat was like hitting red hot steal with a hammer which mushroomed the valves. That's why unleaded engines have hardened valve seats.
The lead also absorbed heat and slowed the speed of the flame witch in turn kept the engine from pinging. Tetra Ethyl Lead
Go back to the 50s. Propane companies bought trucks to deliver propane. The broke the engines in a leaded gasoline and after from 8-10,000 they converted them to run on straight propane and didn't burn valves for a long time because the lead in the gasoline has already built the cushion on the valves face and seats.
Zinc is critical for a brand new engine's flat tappet cam break in. I've seen cam lopes go flat in the first 20 minutes of the break in. Once the cam and lifters are broken in the zinc isn't soo critical but it certainly cant hurt anything. Zinc provides a friction barrier between the lifter and the cam lobe. That's why roller cam/lifters don't require zinc.
