I believe you mean internet service.
WiFi is a means to broadcast and receive internet signal.
WiFi doesnโ€™t care if youโ€™re in Brooklynn or Antarctica. It works the same as long as you have internet availability.

As most of the folks in this thread, i use a cell as a hotspot. But when Starlink comes completely online next year, i anticipate it will revolutionize both internet access and phone usage.

If you can get cell phone coverage you can use phone as "hot spot" ... but if your really remote there will likely be no cell phone coverage and your SOL.

Our family uses Verizon Cell/data hotpot data as needed. When we travel to areas we know does not have good cell service, we download or spend time without electronics. ๐Ÿ˜„

I am on VERIZON CELL PHONE and it has had the best cellphone coverage for me over the years... I also have a MIFI Box that will operate up to five of my devices using the Internet over Verizon...

When Camping I would set the MIFI UNIT in WILSON CRADLE that has an outside ANTENNA which would allow me to use my various devices around the camp site...

I have updated the Verizon MIFI unit to a newer model now...
It looks like this now...

With the new AT&T 5G towers going up everywhere now this may be a better resource in the near future...

I don't know firsthand if things has changed on the camping off grid scene as I have not been camping for around five years now with family health problems...

if cell service is marginal a cell booster amp may get you a useable signal, good enough for web searches, email, phone etc. Not likely good enough for video.

And depending on where you are there are many many rural camping areas where cell service/wifi is NOT available even with a good amp and yagi directional antenna,

A good Wifi goes about 200 or 300 ft. What do you want to do with it?

I use a cell phone hot spot. Antennas and amplifiers can help when a weak WiFi signal is available, same for the cell phone.
