The Physical Therapist my wife is seeing recommends she get a Smart Watch to track her walking distances and other health items.. She doesn't need a real Smart Watch but rather something basic.. I am looking at the Samsung Forerunner 35.. I have read the reviews on the watch but they all sound like they were written by an Advertising Agency rather than actual owners.. anyone care to comment on this particular watch? Thanks Travel Safe

I had a fitbit for a while, until it broke. It was a novelty but of not much other use. In order to gain some fitness from exercise, some sort of schedule seems important. The tracking device not so much.
If the exercise is just walking a smart phone with a Pedometer app will work just fine and costs nothing.

My friend told me to try a Fit Bit. I have no personal experience with anything like that.
It is just for exercise etc.

My wife has the Forerunner 35 and really likes it. She likes to run but we also ride bicycles, play some tennis etc. It connects to the Garmin app on her phone and even tells her how she is sleeping.

If she has an iPhone, get the Apple watch series 3 - $169 at Walmart or $199 at other places. Best watch for many reasons.
How much are the other ones? Unless they are $50 or so, they don't even compare.

What is her or her doctors goals and what are the "other health" item she wants to target? The right tool can help with motivation but it is also important not to get something so complicated that she will never use it. All the major brands have something that should fit but try to narrow it down to what functions are important first.

I wear a Wyze Band $25. I've had others and this is the best one yet, not quite a smart watch but lots of features, even heart rate.

I am a big fan of the Wyze cameras and plug but not the other stuff. I just pulled all the bulbs and replaced them with the Philips Hue stuff. I had been using a mix of them.
Back on topic, We have been using the Garmin Vivosmart HRs for several years and love them. They give very good information when you connect them to the app.

I slip my Fitbit over the neck of a beer bottle. Now I rack up some impressive daily miles.
