Quick question. Has anyone ever had to have their lug nuts re-torqued after having new tires installed?

Yes, I have my own torque wrench and cheater bar.
Also do it prior to trips and then weekly while on long trips.

I have had my Tradewinds since 2004 and have had two prior sets of Michelins installed and traveled over 70,000 miles and never had to retorque my lug nuts. Last Nov I couldn't find any Michelins in my area and had Continentals installed by a local Tire outfit. Now after just under 2000 miles it appears that the lug nuts on one of my duels is loose. Never had this happen on any of my RV's in over 40 years.

I would look more to the tire outlet than the actual tires in this case. That being said I'm sure there's a reason manufacturers and tire shops recommend rechecking the torque after a wheel has been removed and reinstalled.

Might have way over torque them to start with.
As stated, before every trip and weekly. Found one every so often that has loosen. Just purchase a new vehicle and had to stop on the hi-way with the sale man riding along and tighten almost all the nut. Service was not happen neither was sales or the owner of dealer ship.

All lug nuts should be retorqued after about 50 miles. eg: car, truck, or motor home! Anytime a garage has done mine, I have had to sign a form agreeing to return for the retorque.

I have found when I have bought new tires for any vehicle they always say to drive for several miles then come back for a torque check. As said above, carry a suitable torque wrench with you so you can check them yourself.

Have been RVing since the mid 80's. Have never had to retorque lug nuts, have never had any come loose. All the tires were installed using large impact wrenches, usually 3/4 to 1 inch size impacts.

Whenever anyone (well, . . . besides myself) touches the wheels, tires, suspension components, etc., on ANY vehicle I own, drive, etc.,
I ALWAYS check/retorque at least a few of the lug nuts/bolts before I leave visual range of the shop that just worked on it. I don't enjoy getting stuck with a flat tire, at night, while it's raining/pouring in the middle of nowhere with a lug nut/bolt that was torqued to 450 ft-lbs and now I CAN'T GET IT OFF with the tools I have. The factory spec on the MH is 150 ft-lbs.
