I'm doing some planning for a storage carport building and want to have it wide enough to accomodate a Class A with both side slides fully open.

Lot width is limited (as is money).
Question is in the title: What is a typical width for a Class A with slides on both side walls when they are fully open?

Class A's generally have 4 slides. If you figure 3 feet per slide you're looking at around 14 feet total width. Some are less, some more.

if you make your carport 15-16' wide you should have enough room to be able to walk around the RV. wider, taller and higher for the next RV is not a bad thing.

My coach is 8'6" wide and I have opposing slides that are 30" deep so like Rich said, at least 15' to give you a little room on the outside but if you have the option for more, you'll be much happier.

I built mine 18X40. It was perfect with slides out.

Do not know what "Typical" is only know mine.

Now since it's funnier if I type it this way
When I drove up to General RV to pick up my rig I towed a 13' SCAMP hard shell trailer to the dealer.. he gave it to one of his workers who had just been kicked out of the house by his ex wife so he had a "Dog house" to live in [emoticon].

The funny part.. Fully set up all slides extended this 37'7" RV is 13 feet WIDE.

Home is where I park it.

Figure 8 1/2ft plus the 2 slides. Slides vary depending on manuf and type (living room, bed, closet. Slides can be anywhere from 10” to 3ft. I would say go with the widest to cover yourself. I say 15ft RV width minimum. So shoot for 16’.

Our coach is basically 13.5 feet wide with slides out. I'd want a 20 wide building if possible. Also consider height if you need to get on the roof while inside the building.

Mine is 20'x40', with the thought of storing the MH and a car, but without the car, I have a lot more room to get around the MH, with slides in or out.
