I also read earlier this year that one of Bob Tiffin's sons started a new division of Tiffin RV that is building luxury 5ers. They have a long history of quality class A construction so you would expect their 5ers to be well built also.

That's the reality...most of the brands that get beat up for poor quality design their rigs to a price point that their customers can afford.
Anyway, I don't have a dog in this fight, nor am I in the market for a 5er, just passing the info along for anyone who may be interested.

It is Vanleigh RV Bob's Son and Grandson are the guys running it... I am pretty sure Grandpop is in the shadows checking on things..

Agree, but the higher price you pay does not mean it will be built well and trouble free.

It usually just means the repairs are more costly

If you get a New Horizon unit, you better get a Sport Chassis or Semi Tractor to haul it as they are HEAVY.

Some of the triple axle NH units can be towed by the big three's 3500 DRW's. YES within SAE specs. My DRV is 24k, if it had triple axles I could haul more weight because trips have considerably less pin weight.

What stood out for me is their philosophy on quality. Everybody talks quality, but these guys build an aluminum-framed trailer with Azdel sides and rear, one piece fiberglass front cap and PVC roof. Suspension is reinforced spring hangers, Mor-Ryde equalizers, HD wet bolt shackles, G-rated tires and optional disc brakes.
.
Nothing special about any of those specs, many out there are the same..

Generally, but not always, you get what you pay for! When you combine the cost of premium materials, lots of high end options, and workmanship going into a 40+ foot rig.....the numbers add up quickly! memtb

There's nothing special about a Tiffin fiver. They are designed no differently than the others. Even their "high-end" Beacon has the same two inch sidewall thickness. At least with Riverstone and DRV you get thicker sidewalls. Many things one would expect to be standard on a unit of that price point are optional. Pretty to look at but no better to live with.
