I don't know the answer to your "trend" question, but I can tell you that, on a hot August afternoon in Augusta, GA, there is a 40 degree difference in the inside temperature of identical trucks - other than one being black and the other being white (this test was done with calibrated thermometers). You can guess which truck was hotter...

Two tone on mine. Oxford white and lower trim in Arizona beige. Actually matches the trailer very well too.
New trend? I say nope. Been this way a loooong time.

After having several white trucks (4), I grew tired of "that's original, went with the company truck color" comments. Since then they have been grey (2) black (3) Newest is green. I will admit that white is cooler in the summer, hides dirt and desert pin striping though.

I bought my second white pickup in my life this year. Ironically both were DRW. Wasn't my first choice but it looks good with decals so professionally it makes sense. I would have preferred silver if I had a color choice.

GM went full ****** on white Denali’s. I see about 10 a day. Would make a good get-a-way vehicle

Personally don’t like white vehicles......or yellow. Maybe because of having dozens of company trucks in white or yellow.
Maybe everyone want to look like they’re driving a city water department truck!
Oh and white isn’t a color! Double lol.

Been pulled over in white trucks.... nope wasn’t me, but I did see 2 more just a second ago before you came up behind me officer !
Know what doesn’t? An orange car! Couldn’t get out of sight fast enough earlier today when I got lasered on I 84 , thinking that cop will be able to see this car for a half mile, at least! Fortunately I hit an exit and was behind a dump truck by the time the cop got caught up!

the DW and I both dislike white and black vehicles.
My F150 is Sunset Metallic and the previous truck, an Avalanche, was Sunburst Orange. the DW's car is Vapor Blue Metallic.
the last white vehicle I owned, was back in 1974. An Impala I bought at an auction.

Ram, Buick, and Nissan. All white. Didn't really want a white Ram but you take what you can get when you want a one owner pre emission Cummins. I really wanted burgundy or dark blue.
