About to have the batteries changed out in the MH to AGM..finally. Last year where we had it stored didn't check the after and all the batteries went dry refilled and everything was good for a while but batteries were swelled and now 7.5 volts is all they hold.
All that CW carries is is the DECA Brand. They are supposed to fit the same dimensions as the T105s.
1500.00 for four.
Anyone have experience with DECA AGM deep cycle 6 volt batteries?

I assume you mean Deka (with a K). I install off grid solar systems for a living. I have installed hundreds batteries, both flooded and AGM, over the last 15 years. I've had very good results with them or I wouldn't keep using them. I typically see their AGM batteries lasting 7 to 10 years before needing replacement. I do think that Lifeline batteries are a little better but they are also more expensive. However, they make a wider variety of sizes so I often go with Lifeline if a different size works better for a given installation.
A quick googls search shows the Deka 8AGC2 selling online anywhere from $260 to $360 with most places about $300. What is CW charging?

Hi,

At that price I'd be looking at SiO2 chemistry instead. $450 usd per 100 amp-hours. They have MANY advantages over ordinary AGM.

Regards, Don
My ride is a 28 foot Class C, 256 watts solar, 556 amp hours of AGM in two battery banks 12 volt batteries, 3000 watt Magnum hybrid inverter, Sola Basic Autoformer, Microair Easy Start.

$1400.00 total installed, with discounts. It's high but we are wore out and it is the only game around. 10 years ago I would have bought them cheaper and installed them myself. They said they would price match So if i can fidn them cheaper, I'll get a copy of it and present it.

You might want to figure out WHY the batteries ran dry in one yrs time before switching to AGM or any other battery.

Sounds like your converter is way overcharging, water usage with a properly working multistage converter/charger should be minimal.

If converter is not switching to storage voltage of 13.2v it is going to be hard on any battery.. Would hate to see you dry out AGMs which is a very real possibility.

In a yr and a half, my pair of 6v GC2s only used 16 oz of water and that is with the converter plugged in and hot 24/7 while not camping (and we didn't camp this yr)..

DEKA , like stated are made by East Penn Mfg, in Lyons, PA. They are a good battery, with a good following and I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I was purchasing my 2 new AGM's I looked hard at them but in the end went with the Lifeline Group 31 XLT AGM's..
