Not sure where to put this subject, but what I thought was easy question. We are just starting full time this coming week and would like to easily share our travels with our family and friends. I was thinking interactive map of some sort. Would rather not use Facebook or other social media platform, but just internet site of some flavor or another.
Is there an easy answer to this?
thanks.

I'm pretty sure Google Maps has the means to do what you want.....but don't recall specifics on how to build it.

With Facebook, you can set up a private group if you are worried about random people finding out where you are.
Otherwise, there are numerous blog sites that are free. We have one on wordpress but it's more hassle to keep up than social media.
Or you can go old school, and send an email out once a week with updates.
Lots of options.

RVTW lets you share maps with others. It will give you a link to email them. Worked well for us this summer

In Google maps, you can just share your location with other gmail users. They will automatically see wherever your phone is.

I've seen everything from FB wide open to a private blog that a person must request approval to see/ access.
We use FB, but I restrict my posts to my 'friends'. Once publicly defriended a second cousin of mine who made a copy of one of my post and shared it widely.
But we do not say every place we visit, when we arrived, when we plan to leave. Often we post pictures of where we are, after we have left.
And FB, and political parties, seemed to think we should vote in Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana and Arkansas this year. I guess the left too many traces of our travels in data that could be mined.
Of course, it might have been Gas Buddy or Accu-Weather which they mined for tracking our travels.

Just use email....We post pics of things we have done we think friends might be interested in on FB, but our “friends” are really our friends.. we text and email our kiddos with other details.

With google maps you can keep a list of your travels, stops, places you've been daily travel and time of travel. You have control whether private or public and can delete as you please. Do a little reading and play around with it.
