So tell me what is the better FEEL of a 3/4 ton over a one ton? I would rather have that FEELING when towing than when daily driving.

Coronavirus shut down plants this Spring for 3 months, plus supply chain of parts shut down the same or more in some regions. Plants were under 75% capacity before MY21 changeovers. As Dad said, the plants are trying to catch up, but it will take a while. This is not just a GM HD truck situation.

Started looking for a diesel or the larger gas engines to possibly upgrade already for a larger trailer and no 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks on the lots. Talked to one sales person and they said they are all sold and very limited are coming from the factory. Didn't know why the shortage has occurred. Kind of killed the fun of looking for a newer trailer.

Local multi brand dealer by me used to have a very large supply of HD GM's. Now driving past it looks like just a couple Ram commercial trucks. Still has trucks, but think they are are all pretty much 1/2 tons. HD trucks, well.........

I'm guessing the manufacturers gear up for the most selling trucks first, like 1500's or 150's, and go to HD once they catch up with demand.

Never owned a one ton but I suspect that its close to a 3/4 ton since they are nearly the same truck

They should make the 3/4 ton and 1 ton SRW identical. I could see offering a different GVWR/payload sticker for those who are affected by higher registration fees for higher GVWR numbers. Selling a 3/4 ton to an RVer is like selling a half neutered bull to a cattle breeder.

DW wants me to buy a new truck, doesn't like my 2002 F250. Told her maybe next year. The lack of inventory is driving prices up. Thought I found a great deal on a new Silverado 2500. Reached out to the dealer and it had a dealer markup of $6k in the quote with a "take it or leave it" attitude. The F250 will survive a while longer

I have a friend shopping for a truck. The local Chevy dealer is something of a friend of his and told him that they had just taken one in of trade and would let him have for $17,000. The dealer called back a little later and said that he was going to ask $27,000 for it due to high demand. My friend decided to defer but the truck sold quickly.

It was a problem last November when I got my 2019, I wanted a 3500 long bed and had to settle for a 2500 long bed and drive 1400 miles to get it. I’m glad I did with what the pricing is now.
