The remote for my TV lift has broken. I cannot find a source for only the remote. Lippert, et al, wants to sell the entire unit, incl remote, for $600. Does anyone know where I can get just a remote for a reasonable price?

This answer over at eTrailers confirms what you said:

https://www.etrailer.com/question-352790.html

Q: Our remote that lifts tv got broken. Can we buy a new remote

A: The Lippert Components TV Lift System with RF Remote # LC309690 will use the replacement remote and controller # LC253395. It is only available with the remote and the controller as a kit from the manufacturer

They sell the controller & remote package for $315:

I can't believe they won't sell just the remote, but they probably burn the remote's code into the controller, so it's just easier this way and they don't mind making you spend hundreds of dollars for a $20 remote.

Right, but I'm going to call Lippert to verify. Since the remote is just a convenience for a lazy person, and I only raise the TV once when I arrive and once to lower it when I depart, I think my work-around will be to hard-wire an up-off-down switch if I can figure it out on the receiver controller.

I don't have a horse in this race, as my tv stay in the same place, but I hope your bypass works for you, as I wouldn't do business with a co. like that, more than once.

As suggested on the MOC, find the builtin switch for the lift system. It will be in the cabinets below the TV. You don't need no stinkin remote.

If you can find the right wire(s) to connect to, and you still want remote control, you might be able to use a generic remote switch, here's a two channel remote that might work (two channels so you can have a separate "up" and "down" button)

(I know you said you don't need the remote, but maybe someone else seeing this thread does)

Lippert strikes again. Tactics such as this are their MO. They do it with everything they make or distribute.

A great example is their backup cameras which they enter into agreements with the RV manufacturers to install $2 brackets on new RV's. Then the RV buyer purchases Lipperts system, and soon after either the monitor or camera sheets the bed. You have to buy another entire system, individual components or parts are unavailable.

Try and buy parts or a motor for their Solara awnings or one of their slideout systems such as Schwintek and see what that sets you back, totally outrageous and they have you by the cahonies.

The RV manufacturers love them though, and you'll be hard pressed to find an RV that comes out of Indiana that is not packed to the gills with Lipperts junk, from the frame to the windows. They're the lowest irresponsible bidder when it comes to supplying the manufacturers. They have a lot of what they supply manufactured overseas in lots, and once the lot is exhausted its off to the next low bid manufacturer on their end to save a nickel. Something they supplied last year, and parts for it,are not necessarily the same as what they're pawning off this year.

I am not familiar with Lipperts remote but its either RF or IR, most likely IR. Many universal remotes are out there. Just a matter of finding the codes to program in or finding someone with a working remote to do a back to back scan and program the universal one.

Thanks everyone for your responses, and specifically Carl and Susan. I just took a flashlight and seriously looked inside the front bottom left hand cabinet, and I found an override switch!
