I can't be the first guy to ask this question: Does anyone make a oven ignitor kit that can be added on? Every time my wife wants to use the oven she has to get down on her hands and knees to light the burner. She loves her trailer but hates the oven. I would be her hero if I could install an ignitor.

Can't leave it on pilot? I do have to light mine from time to time, but not on my hands and knees.

I haven't seen an RV oven with a pilot. Not that they don't exist, but I haven't seen one.
The oven in our last trailer was a nightmare to light. Our "new" trailer isn't so hard to light, but you still have to lean down there to see it.
Having an igniter would be fantastic.

I don't know about the kit but I had to replace the igniter in our s&b oven. It's a rod of metal, thicker than a pencil and 2 or 3 inches long. The stove heats that red hot to ignite the gas. I'd guess that takes considerable current which make be why you do not see them in RV ovens.

I installed a small stainless steel camping mirror on the bottom of the oven so we could see the pilot easily. We use a BBQ lighter with a mark on that lets us insert it the correct distance to light the pilot light by swinging it side to side a little. My wife and I only have to bend over a little now to light it.

I got the lighter with the battery in it. It had 4 spade connector and there were only 3 burners on the stove. I got the igniter for a grill and put it in the oven. Turn the knob to pilot, hold it in and push the button on the igniter. Our pilot stays out for months at a time. It goes out when we get the tank filled and when we put it away for a while.

There was a thread here about installing a grill igniter.
My oven has a pilot light.

Edit; sorry, I misread your post. You said out, not ON.

When the pilot lite goes out the gas going to it shuts off. Why would you smell gas?
