I am about to install the 5th water pump in my 2015 cedar creek. Two different manufacturers. Each pump has developed a crack in the plastic pump housing. What could possibly be causing this issue? Am considering eliminating the pump altogether, since we winterize by heading to Florida but not sure how. Any suggestions?

The water lines putting the pump in a bind?
You might try flexible stainless lines for the final connection.

I’d try securing the lines so the can put any force on the fittings.

Sounds like an installation problem. It should have flexible lines both in and out and the pump mounted on a solid surface. Something about your installation is putting your pump in a bind.

I guess I should have indicated that the water pump is never used. We have only camped with hookups. The hoses going to and from the pump are the typical soft plastic water lines. The fittings are not leaking, the actual pump housing develops a crack.

If it's not binding from the hoses used to connect it, I would look at freeze damage as the culprit. If you truly never use the pump then remove it and cap the two hoses.
Edited my post to say cap the hoses as that would be correct for removing the pump.

Are you using a pressure regulator when connected to park water? Some campgrounds water pressure is pretty high.
If you’re not using a regulator at all, that could be what’s causing the pump head to crack.
If you are using a regulator, consider buying a higher quality adjustable regulator with a built in pressure gauge.
If you remove the pump and just hook the water lines together, your fresh water tank is going to fill and overflow.

And if you do remove pump.....cap off the pump discharge line OR install a check valve between discharge/suction lines so when using City Water it doesn't overfill the fresh water tank
Personally I would Cap the discharge line
Just a simple Sharkbite end cap.
As to the pump casing cracking.
Pump mounting is too rigid.
Pump should have soft washers under each mounting and the screws only tight enough to hold pump in place
OR your 'winterizing' technique (FL) is not happening soon enough and pumo freezes
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I'm in the freezing camp. Pump in antifreeze and the problem goes away.
