Opened a SBA envelope addressed to my corporation today finding a loan statement with a deferred loan payment coupon due 9/10/21 and called to find out what was going on. Someone using my name, my business name and personal SS number applied for a large sum of money that was funded and is showing on my credit report. The SBA agent emailed a check list of chores I have now including filing a report with the sheriff’s office and informing all of the credit reporting companies.

What a pain in the rear! I’m glad we’re not in the market for a mortgage at the moment because I’m sure that wouldn’t go through. After getting through this I guess I’ll look into a LifeLock service. I did receive a change on my report notice from Credit Karma a few days ago never opening it and sure enough this loan was the reason.

I was notified of an unsuall charge on my Credit Card by the issuing bank, They ask if It was me.

It was a restaurant I wanted to go to but.. alas. did not and now it's over 500 miles each way so NO IT WAS NOT ME.
Upon checking it was the 2nd transaction in 2 days at that same place.

I hope the crooks tried one more time.. Cause if they did the delivery person likely delivered them.

Same thing happened to one of my co-workers long ago only when the UPS driver delivered he had an assistant.. His assistant had two uniforms.. One was BROWN UPS. and under it the BLUE of Michigan State Police.... you can guess the rest.

Home is where I park it.

in illinois there has been a surge in identity thefts, specifically fraudlulent claims for unemployment benefits. happened to a friend of ours. if your checklist doesn't include freezing your credit at the 4...yes, 4...credit reporting agencies you should consider doing just that.

experian, equifax, trans union and innovis.

Had it happen twice now but both were resolved.
I live in VA but evidently lived in Indiana and Boston unbeknownst to me.

I did however take a credit score hit.

I have both Experian and Equifax. Both allow me to lock my credit report plus I get a notification if someone tries to access it. I also check my credit cards and bank accounts daily-sometimes multiple times if I've been using them a lot. You have to be ever vigilant.

I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams

RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.
