Oil for generator

I'm feeling kinda stupid. I cannot find my owner's manual and can't remember what weight of oil to use in the generator. Would appreciate any advice. It's an Onan 5500. Thanks in advance.

My onan 4000 says use 30W but I use 10W30 and it works fine with no oil consumption. It is the sa
me oil I use in the engine and if it is cold the genny cranks over easier.

15w40 Mobil 1. Covers all temperatures. Some people use diesel oil, but I keep the diesel for the diesel and the gas with the gas.

Use what ever you use in the engine....15W40 Rotella for me on diesel number four.

Onan manual says use 30 weight above 0 degrees.

I used Royal Purple full synthetic 15-40 for diesel. Take the best care of your engine, generator, batteries and chassis and house part of coach and enjoy peace of mind and fewer problems.
I would use Euro Spec Mobile One real full synthetic but not sure where to get it except at Mercedes speced for the AMG.

Go pull the cover. There might be a sticker on the air clearner with all types of fun info.

I remember searching around like crazy for the oil filter part number. Dang thing was printing on a sticker right in front of my face.

I also run Delo...15/40...because i alwasys have some leftover from an oil change in my truck. Plus its a good oil. Fella above runs it too i think. Minus the W.
