vcv - Are you going to update us periodically or do we wait until the end of your trip?

I the first part of road trip is done. Visiting family now. This Sat/Sun I’ll make the drive back to AR and will complete the survey. I’ll post everything when I get back.
I’ll post what I have so far, but these numbers will prob double on the return trip (more interstate driving) (not too many RVs on the road, I guess due to COVID.
Ford 6.7: 19
Ram 6.7: 17
Damx (non LBZ): 12
Ford 6.4: 4
Ford 6.0: 4
LBZ: 4
1/2 Ton: 4 (towing 5th wheels)
Ram 5.9: 2
Top kick: 1

I’m not posting what I consider overloaded 1/2 tons right now.

Sounds boring..........data collecting not the 'sight seeing'

We use to make note of License Plates when we were FT just for fun/curiosity but once the vehicle was gone so was the 'data'

What good will this 'data' be for?

150/1500, 250/2500. 350/3500 SRW, 350/3500 DRW, 450/4500, 550/5500.....
Does it really matter?

And after you collect/correlate all this 'data' then what?

What am I going to do with the data? I’ll post it here and watch people like you critique, criticize and wonder why I’m doing it.
I’m doing it b/c I enjoy it.

Great answer - by the way I am interested in your study.

I will be going from Tucson to Havasu soon and passing through Quartzsite for the big RV show. I will also keep track of tow vehicles to help add to the discussion.

Careful... there are a few grouchy old guys on here who will criticize and mock you for ‘collecting data’! (I think it’s funny, doesn’t bother me).

I just got home from the trip. It may be a couple days before I tabulate and post the data here.
Glad to hear you are going to keep tabs as well. I’m interested to see what you document. My focus was on campers that should be towed by at least a 3/4 ton truck, thus my main focus on 3/4 ton trucks.

I will do only 5th wheel tow trucks. That should eliminate most 1/2 tons. Will not differentiate years or engines. Just the big 3 numbers. I welcome the criticism.

We used to count white VW Bugs as kids - didn't have an app though... [emoticon]

1/2 ton is almost guaranteed to be over payload capacity with a 5th wheel.
