Very easy to put out press releases that won't be enforced until current management will be long gone and the new management can change them to meet real conditions.

That is not as far fetched as it seems.
We've seen tube TV's become obsolete. Vinyl records are a novelty, CD's are gone. VCR's history.
Pay phones are gone and home phones are fading fast.
EV are certainly on the horizon and will take hold fast.
Those in the know understand the ICE can't compete with EV's.in passenger vehicles.
