Doing shopping for new insurance company. So far, Geico and Progressive are coming in with the best quotes for full coverage for my 2019 Chev 1500. Any positives or negatives on either company? TIA..

I have Progressive ins on my ATV.

My insurance agent does the shopping for me.

My car, truck, camper (agreed value) and ATV trailer (agreed value) are all covered by German Town Ins.

Until she signed me up with them I had never heard of them. One no-fault claim on my truck with absolutely no issues.

I saw a recent survey that showed USAA in the #1 position with Gieco down aways and Progressive further down the chart. We're switching to USAA and our toys to Progressive as that is who USAA farms out to.

Progressive is not very good at handling your claim! May be cheaper but you’ll pay in the end.

When was the last time you saw an office for either one?

Thank you both for your replies. I tried to go through my agent and she was no help at all. 38 years with same agency. Basically wished me luck. Oh well.

Geico has an office about 20 miles from me.

I'll call USAA tomorrow... think that is military connected? I am a widow of a veteran.

For farts and giggles, look into Plymouth Rock based out of New England area. We just switched to them after about 15 years w/ Erie and many years w/ Nationwide before that. Not sure tho w/ you being in FL if they cover you or not. Worth a shot anyways.

When was this? I strongly disagree. I had a vehicle totaled in a flood, claim completed and paid in under 2 weeks. Vehicle was in Kansas with my daughter when it happened.

My daughters Malibu caught fire last May (due to the Robin's nest in the engine compartment). Once again, handled in less than two weeks.

Three weeks ago, my daughter totaled her Trax when a whitetail deer leaped in front of her. She completed the claim on the app, provided photos, was totaled before end of day. She put picture of paycheck in app, was paid for her two missed days of work on day she went back. The proceeds from her car was deposited 4 days after claim. And the reimbursed Michigan Sales Tax was deposited within day of her submitting receipt in app. So her full time was 10 calendar days. I would think that would meet most individuals expectations.

The payoff on my daughter's Trax was within $200 of what I expected, and both the others were more than I expected.

I have Progressive for my travel trailer, and other trailers. I have Progressive for the Personal Watercraft.

I just hope that I get back to the consecutive years of no claims like I had in the past.

We were with Geico for more than 30 years. My wife was hit broadside, setting off airbags and nearly destroying the vehicle (wife was shaken, but OK). This was the only claim we ever made.

Geico more than doubled our premiums. We're with Nationwide now and very happy.
