I wonder on any reported side effects on the one-and-done J&J vaccines.

Noble idea of giving it to those who may or will have difficulties getting the appointments and to do the travel for the 2nd dose.

Other half had her second this morning (Moderna). Had the chills and now aching bones all over.

Wondering if and when we need boosters if you will get it from the same company.[emoticon]

The 2nd dose is the booster shot.

However, unknowns are how long the immunity will last or whether, like flu shots, it had to be yearly.

2nd is not the booster. Booster they are talking about are a year away. But did get some insight into the boosters being a new vac to cover the newer strains.

My side effects from the first Pfizer injection were minimal. I just hope when all is said and done I develop some antibodies to Covid-19. Back in the day when I was working as a paramedic, my employer had all field personnel vaccinated for Hepatitis B. The vaccine at the time was administered as a series of 3 shots, with blood work done some time following the third injection. After all that, I discovered I developed no antibodies to the Hepatitis B virus. Was told I was among the one in three receiving the vaccine that developed no antibodies in response to the vaccine.

And correlation is not causation.

Statistical probability, someone will die after getting the vaccine (and yes, may or may not be related to being vaccinated.

Absolutely.

Got my second dose of Moderna this morning. So far only a slight headache (which may have been caused by the boondoggle of getting the shot!) and oddly, achy elbows. Got them after the first shot but passed it off to something else. Other than that so far so good knock on wood!
