The delivery infrastructure has always and will always be the problem when it comes to delivering reliable power to customers, I know, I have spent countless hours putting it back together after mother nature throws a tantrum.
Personally I have always thought that smaller generation units that will supply power to a city, a neighborhood, a house or a farm will be in the future.
These generators will be powered by a fuel cell of some sort and the entire delivery system that is now in use will become obsolete.
