CA 178 from Bakersfield to Lake Isabella

Has anyone taken this route? Google streetview/Maps makes it look really tight and narrow. My concern would be with rock over hangs, etc.

@SAR Tracker - yeah I saw that. I thought it would be a scenic route, but wasn't sure about the first couple of miles.

I'm a little nervous with this new trailer (bigger than the others I've towed).

Once you enter the canyon, the first few miles are windy and kinda tight. Then at about the 12 mile mark, the road switches sides of the river and it opens up into a new easy road all the way to the town of Isabella.

It is tight and narrow with some rock overhangs,slow going but a scenic drive and a few passing lanes and turnouts.

It's a great drive along the Kern River! Beautiful.
