Has anyone bought a new Ford Chassis or sat in one to compare the cockpit space compared to the Chevy chassis? Does the 7.3 engine have a smaller dog house than the V-10?

Based on this video, at the 08:30 mark, I'd say there isn't much difference, as the gal has to step over the corner of the doghouse to get to the passenger seat. btw, the guy is a bit off the wall?

Mike. Comments are anecdotal or personal opinions, and worth what you paid for them.

. I read all 5 pages but did not see a definite conclusion. I finally got to sit in 5 class c’s yesterday with the 7.3 engine in it and could not see or feel any difference in cockpit space compared to the V-10. The passenger foot space was terrible. Unfortunately they did not have any Chevy chassis to compare. I don’t know how you could sit in the passenger seat for any length of time with out putting your feet up on the dash.

Find a class C new or used with a Chevy in it. I think you will be surprised.

The Chevy will still have more passenger side footspace. The doghouse hasn't changed, but we'll get a new one with the 2022 E-series chassis.

Looks like all of the makers have dropped the Chevy from the larger floorplans.

Speaking of flooplans... Getting one with the forward main entry door means you can actually slide the seat back, vs running into the dinette.

Can’ t find any on the Chevy chassis, I wish I could. I would trade of less HP for more room in the cockpit.

You are so right, the first thing I check is sliding the seat back. I was surprised that these 24 ft Class C’s had more space when the seat was slid back than my Class A because the drivers seat hit the slide out. Having knee arthritis that is a big thing to me. I had to put a spacer under the seat to raise it up so I could straighten my leg.

Gjac I have getting around issues also. Maneuvering my shoes to get back into the coach in my Chevy is possible with no pain. To get up I rotate & grab the seat back and the overhead and viol la I am standing. I could not do that in my E350 class C. The dog house extended to far back with zero room for my shoes to get by the seat.

Oh, have to add this. As a user experience. I have found, to date, no difference in performance between the V10 and the 6.0 Chevy. The big plus for the Chevy is it is quiet under load. Not screaming going up inclines barely visible on the horizon.
