I am positive it is black water, trust me...the things I have seen cannot be unseen. So I tore apart the sink last evening and it appears that a mouse decided to chew the catch in the sink tail piece to get into the pipe. Then it decided to chew the internals of the waterless drain which cause my issues.
I really like the suggestion to put in a ball valve. That is a great idea. The only issue is that I do not have enough room to have the waterless trap and ball valve installed. It would be one or the other for me.

Also...I was totally unaware of plumbing a sink to black water tank as well however after much research, its quite common and beneficial. I will be using the trick of filling the tank with the outside sink going forward before dumping.

On Airstream Bambi there is only one tank. The manual states to insert a drain stopper in the shower when towing as is possible for tank contents to spill from the drain in a hard stop.
Get a stopper.

@bgum thanks! I also thought of that as well. I think I am going to do that as well. I have used the rubber seals with washers and a wing nut in the past to seal off lines. I am going to look for one of those to do the same here.
I ordered a steel tail piece replacement. I will take that to the hardware store to size the appropriate seal. Thanks for the advice.

Sinks drain into the grey tank. How is it possible for black tank contents to enter any sink or bathtub? The black tank sits under the pooper.. Nothing else runs into it.

falcon brother, some sinks do indeed drain into the black tank. Seems to go against logic of grey/black separated tanks but its done.

I would not trust a stopper.
RV gate valve would be fine too.

If you will read the entire thread, you will see that some sinks, indeed, do drain into the black tank. My first RV had one plumbed that way.
