I started using baby powder on an old sock, no smell and easy to apply.... Then someone at the Redwood factory told me to use pledge furniture polish ....
Easy to apply, and cheap... BUT the DW may smell the lemon scent..... Unless you get unscented?

I use talc, just the kind that is not corn starch, look closely at the label. My thought is that we don't want an organic material in there.

I agree, we have a 2001 and have never put anything on the seals, no problems yet.

I suspect the type of slide drive mechanism you have will have some bearing on whether you think the seals need some cleaning, conditioning, and lubrication or not.
I can hear a very noticeable difference in the sound the drive motor makes when the slide seals are dry, dirty, and dragging on the sides of the slide. I actually spray Pledge on the slide seals, and the sides of the slide itself. And of course wipe it all down before moving the slide.
The motor sure sounds happy afterwards.

Hey Dave, while the link you provided shows the product for the metal slideout use (slide arms/teeth), members need to scroll down a bit on that page, to see the 3 in 1 lube for slideout seals.
After scrolling, you can also see the similar product that I use on the seals, and any other rubber gaskets. It is the Thetford brand, and works great for me! I'm sure most 3 in 1 products are of good quality too!
I put the seal lube on the wipers too, makes the top wiper turn/roll better when moving slide in/out. After using the seal conditioner on the side wipers, and letting it soak in/dry, I then put powder on the side wipers, which allows them to glide against the slide more readily.
I also use ProtectAll polish on the slide sides, including the windows, which helps wiper to slide operation. Lots of little things can add up to a noticeable difference! ![cool [emoticon]](https://forums.goodsamclub.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/cool.gif)
