My record, though not towing a 5th wheel was about 1450 miles ( Baton Rouge to Cheyenne, Wy. ) in 24 hours. But, I was inspired, much younger and in an automobile!

Ours was around 1100 miles but in maybe 30 hours towing a popup, west of Dallas to North Florida

560 miles a day average for nine days isn't fun IMO.
One day of this would be too long in an RV for me.
5050 miles is a long flight let alone time in the RV saddle.

I wouldn't even drive that much in my nice uber-comfortable car, let alone an RV! That's what airplanes are for. [emoticon]

I don’t have quite the endurance I used to, but I routinely do Daytona home to northern NJ in a 15-16 hour trip, 1050 miles. The quicker elapsed times have been in either a Corvette or Golf Sportwagen, with the 16 hour mark driving the Class C. In that, the cruise set at an indicated 70, which is actually a true 68, and stopping just for gas, potty and eating on the road. Usually leave at 5:30am and in my driveway by 9:30pm. Another trip we do annually is to Elkhart Lake, WI. Leave there at 5am, which is a necessity to get around Chicago before the morning rush, lose an hour crossing into Eastern time, and again home in 15 hours in the motorhome for that 900 miles.

My distance/time record is actually Topeka, KS back to NJ, in a GMC 2500HD crew cab towing a 20’ enclosed car trailer. 1250 miles in 18 hours. Left at 5:30am Central and home at 12:30am. That truck and trailer combo was super stable at 70-75; the glitch was the 26 gallon fuel tank and 9mpg meant stopping every 200 to 210 or so miles. That trip was 2007, and being 14 years younger made a different in how much stuffing I had.

These days though, I like to be off the road by 9-10pm. Hence why I’m only good for 1000-ish miles. Also of note, these are just one-shot banzai runs to or from a destination I’m at for at least a week. I’m still working, so maximum time away for minimum vacation time.

Sheesh! I am worrying about 10000 miles in 120 days not being enough to see what there is to be seen.

I'm 70 and recently widowed. While my husband was alive, I did all the driving of our 40' Phaeton towing a car. We fulltimed till he died. So I sold my Phaeton and kept my 22' R-Vision mini motorhome. She's all loaded and ready to leave on a 2-month excursion tomorrow. I'll start with an overnight at my son's across the state, then heading north to Virginia to see my daughter and family. That's a 3-day drive. From there it's on to Indiana to see my almost 96-year old Mom.

I have always loved to drive and it will be easy for me to drive a 22' (no toad) as opposed to a 40' DP and towing. I'm looking forward to it. I have always been a cautious driver, but more so now that I don't have another set of eyes. I don't feel my skills are diminished though, so plan to keep at it for several more years.

My record is Tallahassee, FL to Mt. Snow, Vermont and back in five days with a mountain bike race thrown in the middle. A buddy and I co-drove it. By the end, we were swapping out about every hour. I was much younger then..

That must have been you that passed me LOL....coming out of Indy on I-70 EB last month, I was rolling empty with the cruise on 75 (left the camper at BIL's) and I see an RV in my mirror...next thing I know he is passing me @80+ mph. Brand new F350 PSD with a large 5er behind it. As long as the left lane was open he was rolling, eventually lost sight of him. Had FL plates so assumed he had a lot of ground to cover! Hoped he had upgraded the trailer tires to LTs'....
