My 07 3500 DRW, Classic, LBZ has always either had a 5th wheel or two heavy campers on it. Airbags to get camper JUST off overloads, Torklift frame tie downs, Torklift StableLoads.
Looks fine and no cracks!
Maybe its HOW you supported the camper vs poor bed construction...
HOW it's supported? It has an extra leaf in back and Torklift wedges. What other choice is there on an f350?

Support or attachment? Rear of camper is attached to bumper. Not much strain there though. Rears ties are solid but kept just barely snug. Fronts are on tension springs.

So they indicate the installer education is a factor.
Nothing wrong with the design for what it was design for.
Although there are small metal parts with this type of tie down that come into contact with the trucks heavy-duty frame, the contact is incidental and lends negligible support as the primary strength. The support for this type of tie down is the truck bed and rear bumper and not the truck’s frame.
Negative side effects from bed-mounted designs are lack of support and potential for damage to your truck bed.
