Most likely it was an act of desperation. They were starving, and there was nothing else.


Home is where I park it.

To me berries and nuts might have been very early tryouts. Ever gnaw on an acorn or chomp into an olive? Mushrooms anyone? An abalone foot must have been a howl. Raw fish was part of the diet but pufferfish must have been a terror. The mastery of preparing grains was another milestone.

Grog will eat anything.

I remember as a child " um early 60's " eating pickled hogs feet.
Have to believe there were many sick cavemen until an edible menu was established.
