Does 3 mil refer to three millimeters? That would be 0.118” which is very close. The gasket should compensate, or maybe a touch of sealant. Anyways, the glass shop will do that part. I can’t find this style of window on Lippert’s website, not that it matters.

I am heading back to the trailer today to tape up the shards nicely so they don’t get scattered anymore. Google is a wonderful thing!??

Glass is measured in mm. If you say you want 1/4" you will get the closest in MM thickness.

1/8"/3mm

3/16"/5mm

1/4"/6mm

3/8"/10mm

Do as I suggested and do the work your self and save $$$.

It is actually a nominal size, not exact .
If you do the math you will see the sizes are close but not exact. Glass isn't exactly 3/16, 1/4 or 1/8 or even 3 mil, 4 mil etc, but fairly close.
I was cutting up a bunch of 3 mil once for a project and thought it looked a little thin. I put a micrometer on it and yes, it translated to about 2.8 instead.
But for your purpose as long as it is fairly close, it will work just fine. there is a little wiggle room in the gasket if it has one, and the frame.

Just had a large 3 panel frameless window replaced on my 5th wheel. The top panel had shattered. I used duct tape to hold the glass together until I could get it replaced. I have glass coverage on my insurance so called them. They made arrangements with a local RV glass installer as well as Lippert who made the window. Took 4 weeks for them to get the glass in and local shop came out and installed it.

Shop said they never replace the glass only. Always the entire window assembly. Too many issues and complaints after replacing glass itself. In the corner of all windows is a code that specifies the manufacture of the glass. On mine it indicated Lippert. On Lippert windows the part # is on a sticker on the inside of the frame. Have to remove all screws and pull off mounting rig to expose the label. Once that was known, the ordered and exact replacement. Note that RV windows are often expensive, $500-$1000.

I got the frame out, but It sure didn’t want to come out easily! Being the top one it is somehow hooked into the rubber molding above it. The glass shop is charging me $85. to replace the glass. My fear is that I will break it trying to re-install it. I went to the Keystone dealer and they said it is a Kinro window, not Lippert. They didn’t have any service info on it, so I have e-mailed Kinro to see what they recommend. If I do break it, I will put plexi glass in the second time! Wish me luck.

Tempered glass is pretty tough. The thing that gets it is nicking an edge, so be careful not to hit a corner on something.

It has a full frame around it, I just have to avoid twisting it like I did to get it out. That odd shaped extrusion is tucked up under the molding. As soon as I get a nicer day, I will go and clean up the shards and see if that molding comes out easily?

Things like that can be a little persnickety...
Many of the moldings and such are designed to go in easily, but a bear to remove. Designed that way on purpose so they don't fall apart.
