What do you guys think about the Anderson hitch with the kingpin coupler? Seems like it would put no more strain than a traditional 5th wheel hitch on the frame of the 5er.
I like the fact that it only weighs 40-45lbs and is easily removed when not needed.

Andersen vs "TOG"(The Other Guy) threads tend to become pretty contentious at times.
I'm a B&W fanboy, but IMO if you stick to 5th wheels of 10,000 lbs. or less, the Andersen is an adequate hitch. But as I said, JMO.

The Star Performance Kingpin Gooseneck adapter has worked well for me since 2007... Usually I can get the adapter on my ball easily and never worry about it slipping off.

The Reese Goosebox failed on me and was not replaced under warranty after it failed (Front Frame broken and Reese Goosebox movable part was BENT after hitting a TX pothole). Didn't like how it was supposed to be greased (via zerk) for every tow or how the airbag puffed out enough air after almost every tow it had to be refilled VERY slowly (have air compressor on board?)... maybe the design has improved?
Coworker with same trailer as mine is using the Anderson Hitch successfully too - but doesn't tow nearly as much as I do.

The Andersen is a great option. People that understand it often end up buying it.

Yeah but it's only adequate up to 18,000 lbs.

Pullrite ISR 52 lb hitch
PullRite has the same GN ball style hitch as a Andersen...weighs 52 lbs and 20k lb draw /4k lb load rated. Check them out
Hitch brands are like truck or trailer brands...everyone has their favorite and mine is the best.

I like the Pullrite mentioned but don't like the fact you need some sort of adapter.
