If you say so

What is missing from 785 that is on the 890?

For starters I believe the 890 can connect directly to the internet and upgrade maps and data on the fly. You do not have to update via a computer.
I also believe it has a larger data base and is much easier to use as a trip planner. It also has the ability to easily alter routes.
The 890 is a tablet that is being used as a dedicated GPS.

I have a Garmin 785 lmt and a Garmin DriveAssist 51. I always use the phone data with both. The traffic info is a minimal amount of data.

I didn’t want the bigger screen for in my B+ so I got the 785. Also the 785 has a built in dash camera and the 890 doesn’t. Just depends on what features are important to you.

I don't have a list what features are on each unit so I cannot compare them.

Perhaps because Google (Maps) collects the data in realtime from the GPS in millions of Android phones whose owners leave location on, then calculates the traffic based on data as to who is sitting in rush hour, at stoplights, sitting in traffic caused by a pile up, or tooling along at 85 mph. It's **** accurate.
