What is the purpose of the pins on a Happijack bed?
Thanks

You can pin the upper bed then just lower the bottom (if for instance you only needed one bed). Or pin either bed anywhere you want along the track for whatever reason. I've sometimes stored stuff under the lower bed and put the pins in so I didn't accidentally lower the bottom bed to far.

Does your lower bed fold into a dinette? If so, you pin the upper bed to the highest position and then lower the lower bed down so you can sit there.

BTW - I always pin my upper bed up while we travel so that the weight is on the pins and not on the chains.

Then use the pins to take load off of chains while on the road in up position.

With just one bed, do you even raise it? Is it in a location that you use for something else?

I'm not trying to imply anything, I'm just curious.

We have dual queen happijac beds in the garage of our toy hauler, and we raise the beds so we can use the garage for transporting our off-road car.

I'm trying to picture the purpose of a single happijac bed if it isn't in a toy hauler.

Mines not a toy hauler, it’s a bunkhouse. Raise the beds and load the bikes ( or whatever) through the bike door. Take the bikes out and lower the beds and it’s back to a bunkhouse.

My concern was that the pins might have something with securing the Happijac bed when in transport mode.

This is a Toy Hauler. I actually don't even use the Happijac bed except for storage. It is up all the time.

I'm glad I have it just incase we have a guest.

It is a enclosed garage that has two Jacknife couches that are bolted to the wall and fold up for toys. I use the couches with center table all the time when the Harely is out.
