I have found that the glowing dial on my "Takes a Licking and Keeps On Ticking" wrist watch makes a very nice light for wandering around the house in the dark. It does not seem to reduce the life of the watch battery (at least not a noticeable amount), and it is not as bright as a "tactical flashlight".
It will not work until my eyes are accustomed to the dark!

You still wear a watch? Why something so small and easy to use just to tell the time.[emoticon]

It also reminds me of day/date, and looking at the watch is faster than getting the cell phone out of my shirt pocket (yes, I actually wear shirts that have pockets!) and flipping it open (yes, it is a flip phone, not a "smart phone". It makes phone calls, nothing more.) to check time/day/date. My watch is on my wrist 24/7, except when bathing. It has been for 60 years, I would feel lost without it.
