^^^ I don’t doubt that. On the Ford you just have to set cruise going down hills and pretend you don’t know the computer is applying your wheel brakes to keep your speed in check. Then us Ford guys can be happy too.

Diesel engine exhaust brakes ...

OP does NOT have a diesel engine.

OP needs to learn how to manually downshift.

Well I took my truck out and measured the performance of my exhaust brake today. According to what I measured it appears to be no better than, and probably worse than was the EB on my 2017. The 2017 would slow my truck from 100 kph to 80 kph in 4 seconds .... this one took 4.8 seconds. I guess the Ford is both faster up the mountain as well as down when compared to the Ram.

The exhaust brake in my 2013 Ram works fantastic.....[emoticon]

Not entirely relevant here, but the EB in my '19 Ram works far, Far, FAR better than the EB in my previous 2015 Duramax. It's probably the most notable improvement.

I think at 2000 rpm the Ram exhaust brake will do as much or more than the Ford brake at 3000 rpm. On the over hand, the Ford has the advantage of more gears so we can select the appropriate gear to get the rpm we need. (and the Ford has a 4000 rpm redline where as I think the Cummins is 3000?) I'm looking forward to towing in the mountains to gain a better understanding of how this thing is going to behave, but based on my limited experience with it I'm thinking 3000 to 4000 rpm is where it will be effective.
